Sometime ago Belgium militaria collectors were shocked. One collector who was away on holiday had almost his entire collection stolen. If someone on the www offers you these objects please report it.

Forum Eerste Wereldoorlog :: Bekijk onderwerp - Diefstal!

The list can be found on that forum.(postings littlebelgiansoldier)

    we thank you.

The list can now also be seen at the Swedish forum called "Krigsforum.se" I would suggest that it should be posted on every military forum that can be found on the net!

I sincerely hope that the owner get's his missing thing back!

    Good luck!

Good job Arneken. I hope these items will be found again. Some are actually very rare and quite unique so they should show up soon or late. You could check international auctions sites for a start.

You're welcome , I think it's disgusting that some spend their whole life collection and have it stolen.

A bullet in the back of the head would be a good recompense.

    I hate thieves.

This same thing happened to Erich Topp several years ago. They stole his KC award Doc (I think?) but for sure they stole his Honor Dagger (which was presented to him by either GrAdm Raeder or Karl Donitz) which was made of gold.

My sympathies go out to your collector friend. I too have had items stolen from my collection including an M-35 Double Decal-Luftwaffe helmet with all original parts intact, and named. As well as a 3 piece LW Gladiator helmet, an November 1941 BYF made Walther P-38, my entire bayonet collection and two Army Swords.

Again, my sympathies go out to your friend.

    Best regards-Carl.

I've been a while on vacation but no news so far. The fear is that the thieves will hold the stolen parts with them for several years untill they will sell them.

I hope not, but you are right: these items will be difficult to sell in Belgium and I'd expect them to try militaria fairs, or on the internet and sell them one by one among other items.
Greed is what motivated them, so soon or late something will pop up on the market.
