Hi, I'm looking for a M1 liner to my steel pot, and since the shipping from the US to Sweden is quite expensive I can't bid very high on ebay because it would exceed my budget. So my question is if there are any good online shops in Europe? The only one I know about is Paratrooper.fr but I think 150 euros for a liner is too much. What is a decent price?
    Thank you. :)

    Varusteleka - Belgialainen M1-kypärän sisäkypärä, WW2-malli

That is a Belgian copy of the ww2-liner. It also says it is used in many restorated(spelling?) helmets. Good enough? Costs 49euros + shipping from Finland.

If you want one, Email kauppa@varusteleka.fi im sure the lads there will be very helpful.

Edit: Here is the shops english introduction http://www.varusteleka.fi/~Qxxbx0000001/?Y999=MSC&Y103=6
Oh and i can assure you, they will not scam you, this is the most appreciated militaria-shop in Finland.

Detlev is one of the more respected dealers in Germany. I know who the source is that he has when buying about 70% of his things-and this guy also caters to people with money to burn.

Somehow I suspect that this trashing of Detlev Niemann, is a spill-over from a certain persons 's from mcf.

As for Weitze-he's a good dealer but, sometimes you do have to watch him. On the ID tags thing-I can't say but, on other militaria-I CAN say that he's good but not perfect.

I've never had a problem with Weitze yet. maybe we need to do more research on the item(s) before we purchase eh ?? if a photo exists copy and past and then study, study.........be specific.

now with that Kai Winkler moved to his own personal site, and yes he's another chap that folk do not care for either. wonder if there is any particular dealer that is 100 % safe ? not likley.

maybe the folk need to go within towards friends that have a solid reputation ?

Thanks guys for all the help!
I might go for the belgian liner since I can't afford a "real" one, at least til I get the money so I can feel like paying 60-70 dollars + 30 in shipping is not a problem.

Quite welcome and, I wish I had known you a few years ago. I had a spare WWII helmet liner-that when I bought it-I paid only $1.00 buck for it. If I still had it, i'd gladly have given it to you. ;-)) The spare I had had a manufacturers date of 1942-and I THINK was actually made by Sears.

Nice! But I don't know any french, could you (or somebody else) explain how the payment is done on that site? It says the shipping is only 5 euros, is that to just France or all Europe?

Wow, that would have been really nice of you. :)

Hi Halldin-thanks ;-)) If you wish, I can look around my area a bit for spare liners. I know a guy who lives about 45 miles from my current place-who used to have shelves full of these-all WWII vintage. I'll try contacting him by phone and will ask.

Wow, I would really, really appreciate that. How much would I have to pay for one of those? The shipping can be what? $30-40, not very much.
I would love to get in touch with that guy, if he wouldn't mind shipping it to Sweden. Thank you! :D

Hi Halldin, the guy that has these is here locally where im currently staying. As for prices on these-I don't know what he might charge? As far as I know-he doesn't bother with the internet and rarely sells things anymore. One thing I know he has at least three of-and that I want one of them-are Tellermines. I do remember that he had a room set aside that had lots of WWII British and American gear in it. I do remember seeing a pile of American helmet liners in that room-probably about 200 or so in that pile.

Anyway, I called his number last night but only got an answering machine and left a message. This guy is a Truckdriver by trade-and is sometimes difficult to get in touch with. I'll let you know if or when I hear back from him. Also, this guy still owes me a favor-and if he still has helmet liners-i'll get you one for free and the postage will not cost $30 or so ;-))

Anyway, it;s been a few years since I was last over at his home so-I cannot guarentee that he still has any. This guy used to sell at Flea-markets during the weekends so--I just don't know what he has for sure.

Also, after I finally get back to Houston-I will start putting feelers out for WWII stuff ;-D

Hi Halldin, not sure which part you doon't understnad but-ill try ;-))

I called this guy and left a message on his machine. Being he is a truck driver-it might take weeks before he can call me back.

If you mean about the costs-if this guy has a liner-what I mean is-that he owes me a favor and if he has a WWII liner-that I will ask him to give me the liner in order to pay back a big favor I did for him a few years ago. If he still has the liner-then it is what I want to have my favor returned-and in which that I will gladly give it to you for free-as I don't need a spare M1 Helmet liner.

I have only one M-1 helmet-which was my Dads WWII helmet-and it's still in pretty good condition and is complete ;-))

Anyway, if my favor is returned and I get that liner-I will gladly give it to you free of anykind of charge ;-))

    Take care and best regards-Carl.

That was the part I didn't understand.
You mean I get the liner for free and I don't have to pay for the shipping? :0

    Take care. :)

Will do as soon as I hear from him. I'd go by his house to see if they can tell me where he is but, I no longer have a car at this time. Anyway, i'll gladly let you know if anything good happens? ;-))
