Hi All, I am looking for some good reference/artwork books that feature vehicle profile artwork in color - for all combatants. I have several books such as Jean Restayn's WWII Tank Encyclopedia and a handful of Concord Publications books... but I don't have anything that covers halftracks, armored cars, etc. I'm looking for something similar to what you find on WWII Technical Database - Tarrif.net I figure these prints are available somewhere in a book or series of books but I don't know where to find them. Does anyone have some suggestions? Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks! IntoBattle
Not really a book but the french magazine batailles & blindes has some excellent profiles artwork. Paper quality is good enough to get nice glossy photos, it also has some 3D B&W scale plans and the texts are interesting if you can read French. Obviously it's useless as a "reference" as each magazine has a half dozen articles on different battles most with at least one page of full color profiles of vehicles involved but there is no general index. So if you are looking for a profile of, for example, an israel M3, there probably is half a dozen of them but you have to search for it! Concord has a volume on US halftracks, as well as tanks. Also, have you looked at Squadron's series on military vehicles? In addition to armor, there are books on halftracks, armored cars, DUKWs, and LVTs. Each book has 2 pages of color profiles of the subject vehicle, along with photos, general arrangement and detail drawings.
