Hello folks, my name is Chris. I live in Mooresville, N.C. near the Charlotte area. 41 years old and a military history nut since a kid. I grew up in Fayetteville, N.C. which I'm sure a lot of you know is the home of Ft. Bragg and the former Pope A.F.B. and generally goes by the name "Fayettnam". No, I'm not a military brat though my dad was in the army, he got out long before I was born. My mom and her family have been in that area for generations. I spent time in the USAF myself from the mid 80's to the mid 90's.

As a kid built models of tanks, planes, ships and other military items. Had tons of the famous green army men and vehicles to go with them. My family had, and still has, members in various services so the military way of life is quite familiar to me. I generally gobble up as many books as I can read about the various world wars, love war movies and documentaries. Looking forward to Valkyrie by the way.

Anyway, glad to meet you guys and hope to converse with some of you over time. Hopefully this will become a place I enjoy visiting and engaging in stimulating discussions. See ya around! Oh yea, hope you like my avatar, I played a lot of BF2, still do when I can, and I play the support class a lot so a friend of mine drew that picture up for me. Hope ya'll like it.

I'm a bit late with this, but welcome aboard IcecreamLtDan! I have a special affinity for people who join up and have a machinegun wielding penguin for their avatar. Cheers! :pPmp40fire:

    Hallo!
It's nice to have You here, and I hope You will enjoy time here, just as I'm enjoying it now. Although there is one thing I found, cause this forum is online like 8 years now, it is hard to find a new topic that wasn't discussed here.

    Cheers

Heh, that's why I've spent most of my time reading instead of posting. Figure I better see what's here first before trying to add anything.

I used to play a lot of BF2, I still do just not as much. My favorite class in the game was support where I used a PKM exclusively. A friend of mine is a bit of an artist and made it for me. My avatar on other forums is a penguin on an iceberg so he just took that idea and worked up a BF2 avatar for me. Heh, I like it.
