We lost a lot of famous people in 2008-and 2009 has already gotten off to a bad start-deaths-wise.

I saw on another site that in 2009, we already lost three Celebs. I can't remember the names of two of them but, one in particular was a Character actor who most will recognize-as he was in at least two Clint Eastwood movies.

This man was Pat Hingle. The two Eastwood movies I refer to that he was in are: Hang Em High (As the Hanging Judge) and in The Gauntlet (as Eastwoods cop/friend/partner)

    Rest in Peace Pat. :mourn:

He was also just one of only two actors (Michael Gough AKA "Alfred" was the other) to appear in all four Batman films (Pre-Nolan). Hingle played Commissioner Jim Gordon.

I have the same feeling. It seems like 2008 has been a great loss and not only celebs but friends were lost too, or am I getting older myself ?

Thanks for the reminder, I had completely forgotten that he had been C.G in Batman. I thought he did a fantastic job in that movie.

And Skipper, you hit the nail on the head w/ your post--couldn't agree more. ;-))

Man, that is sad... Patrick McGoohan was a fine actor: I just watched him as the judge in "A Time to Kill" just the other night. And remember how evil he was as Longshanks in Braveheart!

Montalban as Kahn is a classic Star trek character;but I'll never forget "rich Corinthian leather" from his TV commercial days. RIP guys! And thanks for all those memories......:(

I heard about McGoohan earlier today. He was a classic nemesis in several 'Columbo' episodes with Peter Falk.

One of Montalban's early Hollywood film roles was 'Roderigues' in William Wellman's 1949 classic war movie, Battleground.

    Both will be missed...R.I.P...

I remember McGoohan as 'Iron Shanks' in 'Braveheart'. Superb actor. Montalban was the last of the Suave' crowd. The man was built as well. That was no hollywood prop in the Wrath of Khan. That was his own buffed up chest.

    RIP both excellent actors.

I HOPE not. The "Latin from Manhatten" was a fine actor. He was great as Pvt. Rodriguez in: "Battleground". If he is gone--that leaves only two more of that casts members still living. James Whitmore Sr (Kenny-their Platoon Sergeant, and James Arness-the G.I. killed at the Railroad overpass.

Montalban was also great as Mr Roarke in Fantasy Island as well as Kahn in Star Trek II The wrath of Khan.

If he is gone-may he Rest in Peace. :mourn:
