I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the colour of German Winter parkas warn by Luftwaffe men. As far as I can work out the appears to be two versions a mouse grey version similar to the Wehrmacht mid-war revisable parka with diamond stitching pattern and a tan colour version with rectangle stitching. I was hoping someone may be able to help me out with this and confirm was the a tan version and I am correct in thinking that the Grey version was mouse gray and not Feldgreu. Many thanks for your assistance in advance. Regards, Jerry
I don't know anything about Parkas-LW o otherwise but, I saw one pictured and for sale I THINK on Karl Kissiers Militaria site. If not his-then on Andre Hueskens site.
no tan parkaas the grey onesa and not sure just which grey were a carry over from the Heer. LW Parkas were a reversible camo-2 colour and camo one side, white on the other whcih LW ground troops hated due to the dirty build up. one piece and later two piece suite construction. The Fallshirm had their own personal one piece camo and later two peice camo with attached hood and not uncommon for the Fallshirm to play "dress up" with different confiscated colorations into whites for winter use. The Photos prove that and what a crazy montage
