Can anyone help - I've been looking for info on the Battle Of Eft that happened shortly before Bastogne. Any place on the web or anyone know of any books that may cover the details of this? Thanks, any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm trying to write a book and since my Grandfather passed I can't pick his brain anymore. Thanks again!

Eft...I've not found anything on that.

Tell me more of your grandfather. What unit was he in, it might help us find something.

Closest I see is Afst, a village defended by the 14th Cavalry Group on 16 December.

    Cheers

That very well could be it, BWilson. I hope to hear from the original poster as to what unit his Gfather was in.

14th Cav Group also had available to defend the Losheim Gap:
820th Tank Destroyer Batt- 12 towed 3in AT guns, 2 Recon platoons
275th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, attached to the 106th ID, but detailed to support the 14th Cav.
