    Hello to one and all.

I'm retired US Army, living in Germany.

Originally from the Ohio River Valley, WV.

I've been active at a couple of other history forums and remain very active in one.

So far I have seen no one that I recognize.

Usually I'm easy going and a friendly type who enjoys making contact with others from around the world.

Looking forward to exchanges with some new faces.

    Regards

    HP/Half Pint

    Welcome to the forum.

You will quickly find that, judging from the above quote, this is the place for you.

Did you have a chance to go down to Orleans, south of Paris, which was another major U.S. base until 1966? That's my hometown nowadays.

Yes several times. Hubbard Barracks was the name of the installation IIRC. It provided tech support to different radios that were used in Camp de Loges. We always had some ah, comments, when we drove through the town of Pussy. IIRC that was just before we would get on the main road from Paris to Orleans. Unfortunately never spent anytime touring the city then. Little money back then, no car and Paris just a free bus ride away. Paris always won out, except for a great vacation with French friends out into the Calvados country.
