Being burned alive in a tank with inoperable exit hatches would seem to be a pretty nasty way to go....though there really is no nice way to go.

Only a sniper's shot to the heart or head would be a "good way", perhaps. Falling out of the sky from 30,000 feet without a chute would be a really slow way to go. Long time to make amends with your maker I guess, but Oh Dear what a fall.

Stepping on a mine, particularly a "Bouncing Betty".

Weird thing is that I watched the video like a week ago on YouTube.

For me, the scariest would be on a US cargo ship, destroyer or carrier looking directly at a Japanese kamikaze as flak explodes all around it :O

Haha yeah if the Ratte was actually buildt, it would be pretty nasty to come up against it.

But i think it would be even more scary to be the Tank crew in it. I mean all the allies must have wanted it dead. Even if its very well armed, your in big trouble when the bombers arrive.

Artillery produces 70% plus of all battle casaulties. Remarque's protagonists in All Quiet on the Western Front feared it greatly, and that man had seen his share of war. Reading Sapper Brian's reminiscences of ETO certainly seems to confirm that. The mortars are insidious--the shells make a relatively quite swoosh on the way down and often you hear the explosion first. Big shells you can take cover, but it would blast everything around the impact unless you're in the best of foxholes with overhead cover. The TOT PROZITs raining steel from airbursts overhead when you are trying to make movement to contact with the Amis? Forget about it!

To whom it may concern.... that's frightening.

It was already said, but the fear of the unknown. Mines, mortars, snipers, foxhole creepers, etc...That and being wounded without help nearby, and dieing from said wounds, slowly.

Anything like grenades, artillery, mortars, flamethrowers, chemical weaponry, tanks, planes, etc.
Pretty much anything you can't fight against and will explode or burn you. I've seen how much damage things such as shells and airstrikes do. Sadly, by the time you've realised what's happening there's nothing you can do to avoid being killed! Short of being very lucky.

Too true, luck is any soldiers best weapon. That being, hope you get the good luck!

I would be scared of these the most.

    1 Letting my comrades down,
    2 Hand to hand combat,
    3 Artillery,
    4 Flamethrowers,
    5 Being stabbed,
    6 Tanks,
    7 Minefields ,
    8 Planes,
    9 Grenades,
    10 Nebelwerfers

Good question ... The easy/obvious answer is ... Every "Damn" Thing !!! Seeing as how everything on a battlefield is designed to maim or kill.

Personally ... I would fear an excruciating wound, from the likes of a bouncing betty, bayonet or artillery.

I don't think I'd have been too happy, being on the receiving end of a shore bombardment.
