I've been waiting forever for this to finally come out! I'm totally stoked about finally getting to see it. I've even warned my teachers that I wouldn't be doing my homework for a bit--WWII in HD is going to be taking up my free time! :D

Hopefully it'll be as good as it looks.

I hear that! Quite the list of actors doing voices in it I assume.

Watched the first show last night and was not disappointed. Looking forward to the second part tonight. Anyone that missed it last night I believe it repeats at 6:00 central time tonight.

Echoing cypert's words here.... I watched History's WWII in HD last night with my little bro and was blown away! This series has started off very well. The images and editing are very professional, not to mention the classy touch of actors who portray the veterans expressed. Have it scheduled on your DVR, or purchase your copy through the History Channel ;):) Can't wait for part 2 tonight!

I watched it too and if the rest of it is like the first I will be buyin the DVD set.. Last night ended where my Pa started over seas.. Tonigha dn the rest that goes on in Europe should somewhat do Pa's foot steps.. I can't wait to see it.. It makes me understand just a bit more.. and now that I understand his history things make more sense..

I saw last nights episode along with something else which was about Attilla the Hun and his Brother-Breda (SP?) Both were fantastic watchings.

I just finished watching the first 3 episodes and I still have the chills. It's amazing footage (who was filming all this stuff?) with superb narration. I'm recording the rest of the series on DVD for a more leisurely viewing later on. Finally, the History Channel does something right.

Hopefully the History channel is over its obsession with playing crap about Nostradamus and will once again come out with some decent programs. Like this one, it's great.

Hopefully, we'll get this on the History Channel this side of the Pond!

Ditto. History Television up here has recently developed a habit of airing THC's stuff, so I would not be surprised to see this program airing in my AO sometime in the future.

My ony major complaint is the god-awful pop-up ads which just bother the heck out of me. When exactly did it become completely alright to have commercial breaks every 15 minutes (or less) PLUS continual advertising for future show?

I am so off-put by this new form of intrusion on my viewing that I make it a point to attempt to avoid the programs being promoted. Thank goodness most of them are shows I dislike already.

You are free to like this series or not but you might as well get your facts straight. This is not colorized b/w footage. All this film was shot in color.

that is not correct PD, some of the footage is ancient news seen often enough in the b/w back in the early 1960's. did I say ALL in my above posting ........... ? no I did not.
