    Hmmm, that probably rules out construction beams. Any attachment points on the ceiling near the holes that might be used to hang anything?

    This has me intrigued also, I looked at over 100 pictures on Pillbox only one has those holes, Shakespeare WWII Defence.
    From the inside picture it looks like on each left side of the wall you have one. Firing from then is out of the question.
    For support Beams I don't think So.

    I thought the same thing?


    Vent holes or Periscope.

    Perhaps this will help I found this picture it is the other side of the pillbox .This pill ox is dug into the side of the hill ( Hill is on the right of this picture.)

    It might be a hole for a sort of periscope.
