Pill box question.

Not that I remember ,I am going back this weekend to check a couple of things

 

Same holes on what looks like a different Pillbox, so appears to be a standard 'type' for the area:
Shakespear WWII defences

Veering off-topic, but some interesting stuff on Auckland's defences:

This has me intrigued also, I looked at over 100 pictures on Pillbox only one has those holes, Shakespeare WWII Defence.
From the inside picture it looks like on each left side of the wall you have one. Firing from then is out of the question.
For support Beams I don't think So.

I thought the same thing?


Vent holes or Periscope.

Perhaps this will help I found this picture it is the other side of the pillbox .This pill ox is dug into the side of the hill ( Hill is on the right of this picture.)

Here is another pic I took from further back.

 

It might be a hole for a sort of periscope.
