I am trying to figure out the route that the aircraft of the 509th Composite Group took overseas, enroute to the Mariana Islands. Someone I know said that from Hawaii they flew to Eniwetok to refuel, however I didn't think the bomber strip there could handle B-29s. I suspect that they most likely stopped for fuel on Kwajalein. Any information would be appreciated.

Yes. They did fly from Hawaii to Tinian via Kwaj. Just what I suspected. Many thanks.
