Spitfire sculpture ...

    The metal for the sculpture was salvaged from a Wellington bomber which crashed at Kneeshaw's Farm at Hags Bridge, near Sutton on Derwent. The plane went through the farmhouse roof, no-one from the family was injured, but it isn't known what happened to the bomber crew.

    Nice sculpture - but, personally, I think it would have been neater had he sculpted a Wellington.

    Maybe not as sexy as a Spit, but the provenance would have been outstanding.

    ... nice sculpture, nonetheless.

    Really nice sculpture! I like the lightning bolt holding it up. I wish I could paint the spitfire and do it justice. It's such a beautiful plane.
