Not to much into halloween either. Kids get candy all year round. It is nice seeing the little ones get dressed up and walking with their parents. My favorite part of the day is just enjoying the scary movies.

I'm working this year for Halloween weekend, but next year I'll be out and about on the streets. Halloween is pretty big in New Orleans, so I'll be down there for awhile. Might get a bunch of friends to organize a Zombie Crawl and hit the French Quarter. A co-worker who's shift I'm covering for now is having his annual costume party, so I will be looking forward to pix from those preceedings. He and his wife were undertakers (that's how they met, creepy yes but they are happy so good for them), and of course Halloween is their big night. They pull out the stops!

Oh yes, it doesn't take much to start a party or a celebration down in New Orleans. Halloween festivities go on for about four days with voodoo tours, ghost tours, parties, at least one parade (The Krewe of Boo), Zombie Walks, and the usual pub crawls up and down Bourbon Street.

I thought I'd bump this thread up as Halloween is getting close, and my wife and I are in full Halloween mode getting our haunted house put together.

Remember: "Halloween is Valentine's Day for us ugly people". :)

Anyone else have any cool plans this year? :)

Are you still helping set up your former boss's garage?

As for me, nothing fancy. Even though the 31's falls on a school day, the school doesn't let anyone dress up or nothin'. They think it'd offend someone who doesn't believe in Halloween. I haven't met one person in that school who hates Halloween.
Anyway, our class is setting up a dance with a Halloween theme. Three bucks fer admission, and two if you're wearing a costume. Time for me to start looking for a date, haha.

If there are some of you who really likes scares, especially this time of year, I've got something for you that's a great adrenaline jolter and time killer. It's called 'Marble Hornets'.
It's about this guy who's collage buddy leaves town after filming a movie for class. A few years later, the guy finds his buddy's tapes in the back of his closet. These are the tapes.
Sounds stupid, eh? It's not. To be honest, it's more interesting than scary, but can give you a great jolt of adrenaline some times. This is an 'indy' film, and is best viewed in order of entries (i.e., watch Entry #1, then #2, ect.)
Here's the intro. The guy created more than 50 entries, some varying from 3 minutes long to 15. I made the mistake of watching entry #18 and #19 alone D:
    Scared me anyways...
Usually the next entry is in the suggestions at the end of the video so you don't have to scrounge through the sidebar on YouTube to find it, except for Entry #19.5. That's not on the suggestions, I don't think.

Well, since I am also an anime fan, I'm thinking of making a cosplay of Len Kagamine since my friends and I are going to school dressed as the Vocaloids. A little different from last year. Anyways, that plan might backfire since my friends want to ambush me with cat ears and a tail. Luckily I don't have JROTC that day. As for that night, I'll probably go to a Halloween party if I'm invited to one or my folks decide to throw one, but otherwise I'll be either hiding to ambush potential pranksters with some paper weapons I made, watching a scary movie, or playing pranks myself. Maybe listen to some creepy Vocaloid music while I'm at it.

Radar, yes we are working on the boss's garage. Doesn't school take all the fun out of stuff nowadays?

For some reason, having a costume parade on Halloween when I was in school was no problem. Neither was having a Christmas party.I remember hearing that one of the reasons that they didn't allow costumes in school anymore was that it made the poorer children feel left out because they couldn't afford costumes. Hey, I was poor! Half the fun is making your old costume out of things around the house! You don't need a fancy 60 dollar outfit!

I'll check out that movie you recommended.

Awesome! I'm sure you have gotten a birthday cake with a spider web or black cat on it once or twice, eh?

Agreed. A couple years ago we took some big ol' white tablecloth and cut two holes in it. Instant ghost, lol. Simple is nice, actually.

Well I hate the scary movies, my dad spent all my childhood scaring the crap out of me. I'm still scared of the dark.

Now that I have a son though, its fun to dress him up. I got made fun of when he was real little, he was a skunk when he was 5 months and a porcupine the next year. I figured I had to get in what I wanted while he was too young to protest. He was a dinosaur/dragon thing last year and is a pirate this year (he's 3). He was determined to NOT be anything scary so that is OK with me.
