I heard that the UK was mothballing or scrapping its carrier? Removing the Harrier jump jet program. Is there any intention of replacing that program with the F-35? That is if it would be sold to the UK in VSTOL form. I believe it is to be sold in an export version at some point to Nato nations.
Current plan for the ships is to bring one into service, then mothball it or sell it when the second one is built. They might just sell or mothball the second one. Last thing said about the planes was that they probably weren't going to happen but I think it's being left as a 'next government's problem' issue for now. The Canadians are having a good debate at the minute as well about the F-35. Last I heard the Aussies were going to buy some, but that was a while ago. All seems to be up in the air at the minute will take a while for dust to settle and clear picture to come out. it's all FUBAR
Thx for the reply, seems eerily similar to the disarmament after the first world war. Those rallies in Russia with thousands of participants...Russia for Russians seems to echoe similar sentiments of that time period as well.
