My favorite weapon of World War II the mud crunching dogfaces of U.S. 3rd Infantry Division "The Blue and White Devils"!

Friedrich a better what if would be...

What If: The Bismarck and Tirpitz had been deployed the Pacific Theatre to form a duel-axis combined fleet comprising the Bismarck, Tirpitz, Musashi, and Yamato vs. the Iowa, New Jersey, Missouri and Wisconsin?

    Talk about a powerhouse performance!

    Regards,
    MARNE

I guess I would have to go with the FP-45 Liberator pistol. It was inelegant in design and dangerous to the user.

Actually I am most fond of the MG-42. It just looked deadly and apparently lived up to its appearances.

I love the Mauser without the scope. Oh I'd really like to shoot one of these. However they are not allowed here.

A few months back i was fortunate enough to fire a live K98.

My friend who has a firearms licence and owns a scoped K98 (ZF41 scope if my memory serves me right) invited me to go along with him to the local range.

Having never fired a rifle before i can't compare it to any other but it had a hell of a kick on it.

Needles to say i didn't hit the target much :(

I think the MG42 looks best viewed from the right.

I don't think the front view would have looked very nice when firing at you during WW2 :)

Help: How do i add a full size picture rather than a thumbnail to my post ?

Yup, the K98 has a helluva kick to it.
Keep practicing and you will improve your aim.
Hold your breath and squeeeze the trigger slowly, keeping BOTH eyes open.

I fired a k-98 20-25 years ago, my cousin owned (maybe still has it) one. Kicked like a mule and sounded like a howitzer being fired, as did the Lee-Enfield .303. I'm surprised the PBIs are able to hear.

Many suffered hearing loss in later years and were unable to benefit from the hearing-aid technology which is available today. In the 1970s I worked with an 8th Army veteran who was almost totally deaf in his right ear.

I know about the Finnish Army that once the war was over everyone was in such a hurry to get home that they never had their hearing tested before going home so they never got any compensation later on for the damage. And I think quite many had significant changes.
