In the Forum U-Historia, on of my shipmates, is try to translate to Spanish the KTB obtainable online in the website Uboatarchive.net. Recently he doubts what means an expression in a KTB. Concretely, this expression is in U-boat Archive - BDU KTB PG30247 as follows, just in the 1553 lines: ..... F.O. U/B must be able to give his boats general information as well as just the dry bones of orders if good relations are to be maintained between him and his subordinates......

My personal impression is that all things must be clear, but I think that is a coloquial expression, and difficultose for interpretation......

    F.O. U/B= Admiral Dönitz

Do you help us in this matter?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jan,

after reading this text it only make sense that this means Dönitz. The shortings would fit to the german ones like FdU West or FdU Nord. >Seems that is an US shorting for this position. It also is called F.d.U´s/B.d.U´s warlog in this KTB.
