I presume you mean Her Majesty's Guards: Coldstream, Grenadier, Irish, Scots and Welsh?

I don't know which Regiment will be on duty.

And who are they? Bill Gates?
You just stated it was a symbolic position and then infer thats its not by inferring again that England/Britain isn't a true democracy?? Australia has Elizabeth as the Queen of Australia and Australia is the oldest unbroken democracy in the world...We had a problem with the Monarchy back in 1975 but we fixed that!
No one rules Australia except Australians...we don't even have a defence pact with them anymore. I'm NOT a monarchist, but its sure great to belong to an international family...countries you can rely on. Better than being alone in the world...Good luck with that.

one should deduce 700.000£ from this amount considering a large quantitiy of merchandising and souvenirs will help local businesses and even save a few from bankrupty.

Judging by what happened with Charles'n'Di souvenirs, much of the 'merchandising' will - for many years to come - bolster the stocks of the charity/thrift shops which will arise to fill the premises of those local businesses which do go bust........

I dont know? after all, they could have easily afforded something much much better. I kinda wonder if it was the wifes decision for the Micro and the others decision for the electronic toys. Either that, or they were just cheapskates??
