I got this at a "Used Store" today. I believe it is Royal Marines but do not know what the green and black blaze sewn beside the anchor & crossed rifles under a crown represents. Also is it WWII, or when? Thanks for any help. Richard the old retired guy in FL View attachment 13392
Thank you for info. I will read the web links you have provided and see if I can tell when it was worn. Appreciate the help. Richard
It looks lie a recent Spanish Marine beret (from the 1980s) . Not 100% sure of the time period but before 1975 it wasn't a monarchy (Franco's rule)
Hello, my friends....sorry for my belated answer. This page Infantera de Marina espaola is dedicated to the spanish Marines aka Infantes de Marina. Is remarkable this observation: The armed forces called "Empleo" or "Grado" to which the street is sometimes called "rango" (a mistranslation of the English "rank"). The Marines, even as a Corps of the Navy maintains currencies of the Army and Air. The Marine belongs to the Spanish Armada, but it's a soldier, not a sailor. These green pieces, are named in Spanish "galones" Note are similar at that had my father, paratrooper!!. In effect, Skipper, is an old piece of uniform. Extrange that this green colour, note that colour in Marine corps are red.(mixed piece, perhaps?) Modern distinctive, are here: http://www.revistanaval.com/infanteriademarina/empleos.htm or Badges and Emblems - Jobs & Formation - Armada EspaƱola (Official webpage of the Spanish Armada) Jan.
