looking for veterans in greater Chicago area...

Hi guys,

I have an unusual request and no idea how to search for answers.

Does anyone know of any Band of Brothers and/or Medal of Honor (not necessarily WW2) and/or Tuskegee Airmen who are currently living in the greater Chicago area (or nearby)?

Of particular interest are vets who might be available to attend signings.

There's always the American Legion: Post Locator

or the VA: Facilities in Illinois - Locations

or the VFW: VFW - Veterans of Foreign Wars USA (sorry, but their "Find a Post" link is down at the moment, they've got a message up saying they're processing year-end memberships...I'd guess it will be up soon, though)

 

There were several from the Chicago area, but the only one I can think of who is still living in the area is Frank Perconte. He lives in Joliet. But he's in his mid-90's, I am not sure that he does that kind of thing.

If you have an event in the Chicago area, I'd love to know about it.

Thanks. I'll look into Perconte's situation. Regarding the event, keep an eye on the Chicago National which takes place August 3 - 7. I am trying to get someone to sign there... If anything pans out, I will update.

 

A friend of mine live at Munster Indiana . He was in the 82nd Airborne .
