Lions fan. Suffered through the sadness, can remember Barry. Hate Tim Tebow because of his days of killing my Tennessee boys. NFL isn't what it used to be, but what is?

HA!. The Colts are a real powerhouse this year. Thinking the team knows they have bad team, and keep Payton out in order to save him for next year when they could be more competitive.

The NFL? Isn't that the league for players that are too old for college ball anymore?

Yes, there were some good college games recently. Rabid/drunk kids/fans make for an exciting atmosphere...CFL has a lot of exciting games- where all the players want to be NFLer's too :). And all the fans would rather be at an NFL game. But if no NFL, college/CFL would have to suffice.

This Colts implosion also points up just how risky it is to build a team around a single player's unique abilities. When a team's success revolves around a single player, whether the QB or other position, it is hanging on by a fingernail to relevance in the sport. In the Denver Bronco's final Super Bowl year, Elway's last year, he played the QB position less than his number two even though he started 12 of the 13 games leading up to the playoffs, he rested through most of the games. Elway was in the game less time, and attempted the fewest passes since his rookie year.

Sadly that man (don't remember if it was Griese and Plummer, or what order) couldn't do the job without Elway sitting on the sidelines ready to come in and close the deal. He was in the same position that Painter is now, no outstanding QB to save his bacon when he falters.

I'm very happy with the turn around the 49ers Have made. I would say Harbaugh is a shoo in for coach of the year. The team is basically made up of the same key players, just a new coaching staff. It's been a great year.

Hey, my reliable Vikes predictably lost to the Saints. I guess their role this year is to provide stability from week to week. Like a keel on a ship. You know, under water. Glub, glub.

Another nice come back win by the Lions. That Stafford kid might turn out to be ok...
