All, I am trying to compile a listing of the German designations for captured infantry support weapons during WWII? Machine guns AT Rifles Small Mortars (50-60mm) Flame Throwers
Machineguns ------------------------------------------- - Czech -- MG 26(t) and MG 30(t)= ZG 26 and ZG 30- Soviet -- MG 216(r) == Maxim PM 1910 -- MG 120(r) == Degtyarev DP - Belgium -- MG 127(b) == Browning Mle 30 - Holland -- MG 100(h) == Lewis M20 - France -- ???? == Mitrailleusae de fortresse Mle 31 -- USSR -- MG 216(r) == Maxim obr. 1910 -- MG 120(r) == Degtyarev obr. 129g -- MG 218(r) == DS obr. 1939 ... to be continued
Having already got the Gander/Chamberlain Encyclopedia open for another reason, I feel inclined to transcribe MGs, as I need to refresh somewhat. (Maybe ditch that slightly irritable signature, and In pleasant spirit I might do all the other weapons in there from Leichte to Schwere as well. ) It is late, and I am full of Vodka - all transcription errors are my own, and some original designations I've compressed. Work back from the Germanic nomenclature and you'll get there. MGs.
