Hi, I'm fancying getting a Stalhelm like bicycle helmet. I see there are quite a few, but they're intended for motorcycle use:

Does anyone know if these can be used as bicycle helmets or saw one made specifically for bicycles. It don't want to get one and find out it doesnt protect my egg - how ironic for a "Stal" helm.
I looked at the padding in one of those helmets and it seems thick enough ( ~1 inch) ?

    Thanks

If the helmet is designed for motorcycle use then I'm sure it will be more than adequate for use on a bicycle.

I would not trust my brain housing group to something which costs only $17.00

I would advise you to wear a proper bike helmet, that one looks crap.

....and as Skipper said above, this isnt Militaria

Yeah, I thought that helmet was a little too cheap too. But I saw another one on Amazon that was originally ~$60 but was heavily discounted to $20 for Cyber Monday.

I was thinking the same thing, but I was just afraid there might be a chance the nature of motorcycle crashes is sufficiently different from bicycle crashes that they design the helmets with different levels of protection for different regions.
Anyways, I don't intend to use this helmet too often. Just for novelty.

OK, I didn't know that. I'll keep that in mind next time.
