For those of us who love to read (and you would not be here otherwise ) you have known the delight of losing yourself within a good book, and conversely the disappointment of slogging though a bad one. You can save your fellow members a good deel of misery, not to mention money, by taking a moment and letting us know what you think about a book you have read recently. Your review need not be very long but should include the following 5 things, First, General Information on the book. Full Name of the book You would be surprized how many have similar Titles Name of the Author After awhile you learn who to seek out and who to avoid Number of Pages A few go weak in the knee's at anything over 400 pages (If it is a E-book, oversized or a little pricey, that too is good to know) Second, What is the book about and what does it try to convey to the reader Third, What did you enjoy most, or what impessed you the most (content, writing, etc.) Fourth, Where did the book fail to meet your expectations or could have been better Lastly, your honest recomendation, is it worth reading, worth buying Honestly I would prefer your own thoughts, in your own words, but links to professional reviews are acceptable if, They are in agreement with your feelings, They are reputable, and they don't lead to a tornado of pop-up's. The problem with links are that they sometimes drift into the Bermuda Triangle of cyberspace and are never seen again. Thanks, and Happy Reading, Belasar

If you have read a good fiction story about the war that you think we would be interessted in or one you want to warn us about, please do! If we get enough threads together we may be able to create a war fiction sub-forum.
I am reading The German War and it is excellent! It is a bit detailed for some readers but I just skimmed over some that were too long. I had never read books from the German perspective and this one is a winner.. The writer proved that the Germans DID know about the murder of the Jews. The German civilians tried to equate the bombing of the their cities with the German killing of the Jews. In NO way were they comparable. The Jews was innocent but the German WERE responsible for th start of the War. There can be some questions whether the bombing of cities like Hamburg, Dresden, etc,, were necessary, but that is another subject. Author is Nicholas Stargardt, Book with 704 pages (I told you it was long!) There are copious Notes (which I love when they list where the notes are in the book), Bibliography, and Index and lots of pictures.
