I bet Taft would have issued a bailout for Hostess. Obama is too skinny!

What does this mean? No more donuts? Twinkies? Bagels? If they make biscuits then I can see why they are going out of business...You put biscuits in your tea..not in your gravy...twinkies? Come on America be a man...twinkies?

Little Debbie will step in and make things better, I'm sure. Sponge cake and spooge, the combination will live on!

The Twinkies will last forever, not the company though.

I delivered a case of Twinkies to London back in 1975. I wonder if any of them are left.

As much as people like to make fun of Twinkies (and I don't blame them, they are awful), they simply don't have a "forever" shelf-life. It is in fact about 25 days, and while lengthy for a "cake" product, this is more likely due to their lack of dairy than anything else. But under a month is far from "forever". Not as much fun, and funny, but get real guys.

By the time they get to New Mexico at the trading post, it has already been 35 days and the taste remains the same forever after.......certainly is what my palate has experienced eating them.....so you could say they have short shelf life........or forever depending on the state of the marketplace. If you didn't have a label to read you couldn't date a twinkie by taste out here.

Why don't you like that OP? Just too much of chill on the "forever" Twinkie?

Never liked those damn things myself, and was fascinated by the story of how they went from "banana creme" to "vanilla creme" fillings during WW2. America commandeered the United Fruit Company cargo ships after Pearl Harbor, shut off banana imports, and left the production of "Twinkies" without a filling.

Twinkies marched on without bananas, but their shelf live remains a running "joke" even today.

When I was in first grade my lunch consisted of one Twinkie and a glass of milk. In those days Mom made ketchup soup on Thursdays, the day before payday. We didn't know any better, so it was good.
