Hello! I'm Ed and it is a pleasure to join this forum! I currently live in the Seattle area and I have been addicted to aviation since I can remember. Considering I'm right now in my mid-thirties that is quite some time . I do have a blog that I share some of my love for aviation here: Air life's | Flyers and their stories. Please feel free to drop by and see the biographies I post there. Also feel free to leave me notes about people you would like to see, corrections or anything you mind You will certainly see me around, usually asking questions (I'm the curious kind) but perhaps with some luck even helping answering some questions. Cheers! Ed
Welcome to the forum....I really enjoyed your site......so often we are not aware of the diversity of what made up the totality of the fliers on the Allies side. Thanks for remembering so many I was not aware of. I will mention I live near Frank Farr a neighbor of mine who was a navigator on a B-17, completed 16 missions or so over Germany was shot down and imprisoned in a stalag for the remainder of the war. He was so productive as a teacher and educator but only in recent years retired. My region of the country has benefited in a very special way from his presence. For the first time I will post a site that shows his biographical information. He is very intelligent, computer proficient and I very much look up to him for all the ways he has contributed.Frank Farr: Biography I should mention he has books that can be had on Amazon, he tells me. I have two of the three and cherish them.
Welcome to the forum, Ed. I noticed that there were several Brazillian pilot bios. Was this coincidence or do you have a connection with Brazil? I have a friend who grew up in Brazil, so it piqued my curiosity.
Thanks chap! I do have fun making the bios so just stay tuned and you will see more and more Cheers! Ed
Thanks Victor! I made a list with names from all around the world to try to research them and it has been tons of fun so far . I glanced over your site and it is really good chap! If you and Frank don't mind I can do a post about him in my blog (and point your site of course). It is always a pleasure to learn about one more life. Cheers, Ed
Hello! Interesting enough I do have a connection with Brazil and it was not a coincidence that I have many Brazilian pilots bios but perhaps not because of what you are thinking . I was born in Brazil and I still have relatives there. One of these relatives sent me a book about the Brazilian pilots of the 1st Brazilian Fighter Group (although the unit size would be more of a Squadron for WWII US standards) and it was a fun read and this was one of the sources of my initial posts. Please say "Oi, tudo bem?" ("Hi, everything alright?" in Portuguese) to your chap that grew up in Brazil . Cheers! Ed
Thank you Lou! I will certainly contribute to the best of my abilities . This forum seems to be a great place so I think you will see me regularly. Cheers! Ed
