Just saw the new version and I think it's an improvement over the original. First off, urban warfare. Second, they have some fun with it. It won't be a spoiler to say that the cryptic messages being broadcast to resistance groups includes two phrases you've probably heard before. "The chair is against the wall." "John has a long mustache." (Both in English for a change. :D)

Being a move it has the usual horrible mistakes, bad guys can't hit anything, nuclear grenades, etc. But it does move better than the first one, IMHO.

Not sure if I'll catch this one in the theaters, or wait for it to hit DVD...I thoroughly enjoyed the first one, so remakes make me nervous. Thanks for the review, though!

I'd recommend waiting for the DVD, or cable. I like explosions as much as the next Rogue, but I can wait until this one's free before I watch it again.

I've been talking to my friends and they all said it was a really good movie. I just can't take anything with Josh Peck seriously since the TV Show 'Drake and Josh'. That show was hilarious.
I'll wait 'till it comes out on Netflix and give it a try. Sounds promising. I'll have to watch the original first though.
