    Hello.

If you could own any weapon used during world war two, which one would it be.

    It can be anything, from

Tanks, ships, submarines, guns, rocket launchers, grenades, AFV, jeep, artillery, car, train, plane, bomber OR anything else, as long as it was used in the duration of World War 2, no matter how big or small its part was.

It's got to be the Molotov cocktail, the main and often the only Finnish anti-tank device in the Winter War.

Molotov cocktail - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The USSR started the Winter War on 30th November 1939 by bombing Finnish civilian cities and towns without any previous warning. When the Finnish government protested, Molotov denied any bombings but argued, that the USSR was only dropping "bread baskets for the Finnish poor workers". After that the soviet cluster bombs got a nickname in Finland as Molotov's bread baskets.

A bit later the same theme was continued with the naming of his "cocktail".

The Stg.44 was years ahead of its time. The Yugoslavian paratroop corps used it right up until the 1980's when the remaining German rifles simply became too worn out and had to be replaced. Few people realize, but the Germans also developed an infrared scope for the rifle that was practical and widely used for night ops.

The rifle was widely issued to the Waffen SS, and I was surprised to learn, that late war TOE's also called for two platoons of each Volksturm company to be issued with it as well - the reasoning being that a superior rifle would make up for deficiencies in training.

The M1 Garand .30-06 semi-automatic service rifle. (I have one and love it!)

The V2 was a pretty good system for ww2. Not a fan of where it was used but the weapon system for the time was something to be in awe of...If Germany had the v2 tech in 1939 we may have been discussing ww2 differently.

I still want to wield a 1942 Smith-Corona in Kansas. I might consider a move to Nebraska.

Republic P-47 Thunderbolt hands down. Imagine the fun I'd have buzzing unsuspecting folks standing on the ground with the eight .50's ! Blanks of course :D
Rockets would be fun too !

Well I only own a half acre of heavily wooded land with a house on it so I assume an airfield and hanger would come with it, as well as maintenance and an ample fuel supply and ammunition but I will choose a Bristol Beaufighter, with the 4 20mm Hispano option as well as the 6 303 Brownings , oh, and a target range preferably on the coast with ample barges to fire upon. I just love the pugnacious looking Beau, not a thing of beauty but a thing of purpose.

Failing that an SMLE No. 1 Mk 111 sniper rifle would suit my fancy just fine. Well an endless supply of non corrosive 303 ammunition would be okay as well.

Obviously the Mosin Nagant. Despite the fact that it was a brilliant sniper rifle, the russian infantry had great success with it.

I have to ask: which variant? ;)

I've always been partial to the Finnish models.

The M91/30 variant. Own one and shoots no problem despite being manufactured in 1944.

I'll agree with that. If I had one I could sell it and buy a lot of things I could acutally use (including a number of WWII rifles)
