I'm lucky enough to see the cherry blossoms for the 7th time. I took the Metro from Reagan Airport to Wardman Park and The Tidal Basin is electric. Washington DC has never looked better !
I didn't know you were so young 36th . Due to very temperatures , the cherrish do'nt blomm here yet. Only those who have Japanese flower variety , but not the fruit ones. Actually that's good because it's still freezing overnight.
I love Texson....He appears just when you think its safe to come out.... I live in British Blossom county....Its the time of year all the tourist buses follow our version of the blossom trail....Spring seems in the air..
Oh...no...not the known unknowns....Texson....the forum minesweep....Except...our mate Texson plants em....How's life old bean...But staying on topic..36th...got any pics mate? Not ones of Texson either...
We have a lot of ornamental crab apple trees here, which bloom pink. Looks great for 3-4 days. Then you have to clean up all the rotten crab apples in fall. People track squished red apple sauce all over town. The birds love it. Had to scrape several off the windows...Always consider it a bad omen when a bird dies on my window...When they get up and fly away, makes me feel better...Unless it's a crow or magpie. They are sooo rude and obnoxious. ..Smelly cat is terrified of crows.
Never tried to take pics from the Metro. The Metro is the only way to go there. The yellow line takes you right along the Jefferson Memorial at The Basin... This wasn't an accidental tourist trip and never is. I'm just one of the schmuck's that sets an exhibit at a convention and moves on. Our client is Booz Allen Hamiliton and they attend all the military conventions.
My wife died in a terrible accident. Was only able to recover portions of her body. The magpies and crows had their way her, and I have since had terrible nightmares, only recently overcome/forgotten... Plus, the not getting dishes washed thing...Thanks a lot Urqh.
