And what about the prices of cars?

Unfortunately don't really know Canadian beer, but if it's anything like the coloured water (the main brands) they serve in the States then there's nothing gay in buying the proper (European) beer...
(Not meant to offence anybody, just an opinion...)

When I used to work in Scandinavian countries...about 10 years back now...The cost of living was horrendous in Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway...locals could not afford to beer...Many brewed their own...daily living cost far above the equivalents in UK at the time...I suppose it has not changed that much now either.

There is always a knee in the curve of ROI and freedoms. The US is now in 17th place in economic freedom in the world. Personal freedom in the US is on the decline too. Some people who have planned and worked hard are seeing both economic freedom and personal freedom being eroded by a larger than necessary US Federal government taxation followed by some State governments and local juridictions eager to over tax as well. Apparently some have taken the step of renouncing American citizenship based on what's best for them economically and for better personal freedom. They took the step while they STILL can.

It is worth noting that legal immigration to the US over the last 6 years has averaged just over 1 million persons per year and illegal immigration has averaged to about 300,000 per year for the same period compared to perhaps a maybe 2,500 to 3,000 giving up their US citizenship by year end.

About 40,000 Americans are killed in Auto accidents per year.

Will somebody give urqh his teapot back as the tempest is over?

I hate the way the country is going, but since every other developed nation seems to be even farther down that road, where would I go?

We should not consider sexuality in politics. So, forgive me: Hillary's cankles with commentary- http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://liferecaptured.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/hillary-clinton-cankles.jpg&imgrefurl=http://liferecaptured.wordpress.com/2008/04/21/hello-world/&usg=__AwUDynB2EXjrQV5XWkO9UJ3V0RU=&h=394&w=143&sz=7&hl=en&start=1&zoom=1&tbnid=ubVLuLDu5-OkAM:&tbnh=124&tbnw=45&ei=RmBgUofRI-S9iwLJ2YEY&itbs=1&sa=X&ved=0CCsQrQMwAA

Why would you want to live there? You have to walk around upside down all the time.

    The Twin Oaks of Arkansas.

Sexuality in politics is the only way to talk about Sarah Palin, well, other than a punchline. Her elevator doesn't go all the way to the top, it stops at the hemline.

Still, Sarah Palin as President would make me seriously consider giving up my American citizenship.

Takao, I find what you have to say both enlightening and true. There isn't much that would cause me to give up my citizenship, but Sarah Palin as president might do it.

I can honestly say we'd (Australia) would seriously consider recinding our ANZUS pact if she got in...she would be a bullet into the heart of US credibility and security.
