Carrington sat on his arse for SEVENTEEN HOURS thus ensuring complete failure of Market Garden and, because it drew in scarce vital resources, the halting of Patton's advance too.

This allowed the Soviets to advance into Eastern Germany.

Carrington sat on his arse for SEVENTEEN HOURS thus halting the whole advance of XXX Corps thus ensuring complete failure of Market Garden and, because it drew in scarce vital resources, the halting of Patton's advance too.

This allowed the Soviets to advance into Eastern Germany They didn't start the Berlin offensive until April 1945, seven months after Carrington had halted the entire Allied column at Elst, a mere five miles from the door into the German industrial heartland.

Yes Carrington achieved what the Germans couldn't do.

Please explain to me why Carrington sat on his arse for SEVENTEEN HOURS five miles away from Arnhem listening to the Nebelwerfers annihilating the British 1st airborne?

War is good for business : and ;who said this ?

As one can expect: Anthony Sutton.

The same man who said :The Roosevelt and Hitler plans were plans for a fascist takeover of their respective countries .

    :The US are ruled by a dictatorial elite ;

And,maybe, you could explain to us why there would be no Cold War,if MG had succeeded ?

Already have mate. So have others.

Why don't you pick a half dozen of the reasons which have already been given and refute them. Decide whether he is under orders or not too while you are at it. It's your crackpot theory. The burden of proof is not on me. If you don't want to convince anyone and are just here to listen to your own voice that's fine. Just tell me and ill happy let you ramble on about whatever you want.

Better yet, spell out what your whole position actually is, read people's responses and reply to them. Every time someone tries to put well reasoned answers to you for refutation you scream LIZARDS or some other such strawman. A few posts later you just go back to shouting seventeen hours. This pattern is so well established im really not falling for it again.

Attentive readers (if there is still anyone following) will have noticed that the man who wrote in post 134 :the key is rightwing extremism, is using as source someone who worked at the Hoover Institute.Probably,he thinks that the Hoover Institute is an institution with as mission to fight against rightwing extremism .

I thought Patton was out of fuel because the Germans kept the ports shut and getting fuel and ammo by trucks was not fast enough. Also the "capture" of Paris meant that a huge deal of supplies would go there instead of the troops. Reaching Rhine would not change the fuel situation.

I might make some Scotch Eggs today.
    Can't beat home-made Scotch Eggs.
I find you have to make 'em with shallots though. Shallots, and a bit of lemon zest.

Roscoe, as you've put forward something which is not in keeping with the accepted version, the onus is therefore on YOU to explain your theories, not for anyone here to re-tell those events which can easily be found in history books etc.

Not one reason given by you, nothing about how this could've been achieved or why. I believe that you are ignorant of Op Market Garden itself beyond the superficial, that you won't accept anything other than conspiracy related theories anyway - and that's why you are unable explain your beliefs to anyone. Any reasoned person will see your posts for what they are. They are insubstantial when put to the test so you resort to the ultimately self-defeating tactics of the conspiracy troll.

You must be really enjoying all the attention but it's truly sad when there is so much crap going on in the world as it stands, that types like you resort to fantasy and make up some more. If I weren't one for such time wasting myself, I'd wonder what truth you all were trying to distract us from.

    Repeat.

Methinks the onus is upon you to explain why Carrington sat on his butt for SEVENTEEN HOURS.
