I am looking for support for a petition I started to recover the remains recently found of a world war 2 B-24 bomber recently discovered near Grado Italy. Human remains have been found and I wish to positively bring the U.S. Government into helping to preserve and extracting these remains. I believe these men deserve to be recovered and interned on U.S. soil with all the military honors they deserve and have died for. My uncle Thomas McGraw was the nose gunner on this plane and listed as MIA. The aircraft is B-24J-10-Fo-S/N42-51642 Of 449'th BG 716'th BS. MACR312511. This plane was piloted by Lt. Howard T. Hanson MIA.
Thank You in advance for your support,
    Tony52 (nephew of Thomas McGraw)
P.S. PLEASE share your military background or thoughts in the comment box.

Have you contacted these folks yet?

    http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/

The Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO), located near Washington, D.C., was established in 1993, after the U.S. Senate called for the Department of Defense to form a single office to oversee and manage POW/MIA issues.
On behalf of the Secretary of Defense, DPMO works to limit the loss or capture of Americans who are serving abroad, and to bring home those who are captured or killed while serving our country.
"Keeping the Promise" is DPMO's motto, which refers to the promise made by the U.S. Government to recover and account for missing Americans. It requires a worldwide effort to ensure progress toward achieving the fullest possible accounting of our missing servicemembers.
DPMO's mission requires a team of more than 100 civilian and military personnel who have expertise in the following areas: (1) Plans, policy, control and oversight; (2) Gathering and analyzing case-related information; and (3) informative and timely outreach to families and the public.
We acknowledge that we will not be able to resolve all cases due to the horrific realties of war, yet our efforts continue to achieve new success every day.

    Hello All,
I am still seeking support for my petition. I am going to be point blank. I NEED SIGNITURES. I am trying to support all MIA/POW,s from all wars. We are in the process of loosing all first generations of the men and women who served in world war 2. I am one of them and I am 61 years old. The United States Government and the public in many sectors don't care. These brave men and women deserve the respect and dignity owed them for serving their country in time of need. Please help me in bringing awareness to this issue in bringing home to all countries the remains of all known and recoverable Allis soldiers.
    Thank You,
Tony52 (nephew of Thomas McGraw MIA)
