Starting to get my hobby room organized

Still unpacking boxes, and need to get a new work table and display shelves...

 

Dood, do you have THAT much spare time on your hands?

 

Well, this goes back a long way, and for maybe 20 years I wasn't able to set up a work bench. So now, I'm set for spare time and retirement.

 

I nice orderly and comfortable work space...plenty of air flow and music! And you can while away the hours...work on two at a time...whilst one is drying...

 

Two at a time? For pikers. I have possibly a dozen kits under way.

Each to their own...i like to "live inside" a model...become initimate with each peice (not that sort of intimate)...Maybe you can do this whilst doing multiple...i shouldnt judge others by my abilities or lack thereof... : )
More power to you mate...you have some proud and scary moments ahead of you!

 

Deffintly much easier doing one of them then repair and full respray on the F100 at work... Might have to get a few for my self.

 

The number of kits I have underway reflect my mood at a given moment, a change of inspiration.

Oh yes, I see now. Obviously you are not one of those types at all when it comes to modelling. Silly me.

 

Best get a lot of display shelves. My own wall of boxes is a bit smaller and I still lined a wall and a half of my bedroom with models when I was in High School.



The shelf of boxes is STILL in my parents basement. Ought to drag those to my own home one of these days. (Both completed and boxed.)

 

They're model airplanes dood, hang them from the ceiling.

 

You hang toys from the ceiling.

 

And your point is?

 

Models aren't toys.

 

You don't see the one's I hung from the ceiling with cotton puffs floating out behind. (And the fellow bailing out with a napkin parachute.) Nor do you see the big bombers, of which I had more than a few, as they were on the other side of the room at the time of the photo.

They were models, but my little brother and I were more than happy to run around with them making machine gun noises and breaking props and radio-masts as we refought the war. (We even spectacularly collided once, he flying a Zeke and me a pair of weaving F6Fs. The relevant F6F shed a wing and the Zeke lost an engine and part of the landing gear. Both were "flying" again soon after.)

*Note: I was in High School at the time. And as a wargamer I've always been a little fuzzy on the difference between "model" and "prop for simulation/play" which others might call "toys."
