If you only read one book on the U-Boats read this one, you will not be disappointed. A great read from start to finish.


Coming to the end of another book may be able to post my comments on that one later today.

 

I keep buying books but cant seem to find time to to read them! might have somthing to do with my daughters 4 and 18 months keeping me busy

 

age 4 years i might add

 

Just finished "Death of the Wehrmacht by Citino" very well done. Also War Plan Orange. Both books go a long way in explaining the reasons why strategies went a certain way, when as armchair generals we shake our heads!

Just started Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally the other day. I recently finished Death Dealer: The Memoirs of the SS Commandant of Auschwitz by Rudolph Höss and still reading The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by Shirer (taking forever to get through that one!)

I have tons on my shelf just waiting to be read - some might not be worth a darn, but when I'm at used book stores, if it is related to WWII, I grab it! You can see my library by going here: LibraryThing | Catalog your books online I still need to add some more WWII books to the list and haven't barely touched my fiction section. (Dad gives me all his WWII novels).
I have other books listed other than WWII, but tags are in alphabetical order - look for History, WWII, Third Reich and Holocaust. A lifetime membership on this site is only $25 - great way to keep track of your personal library.

"Ivan's War" by Catherine Merridale and "A Bridge Too Far" by Cornelius Ryan have both arrived.

 

I'm reading Tigers in the Mud by Otto Carius. He doesn't seem to think that the Americans were as tough as the Russians having fought on both fronts.

 

The Jedburgh's. Pretty good so far! A very interesting group of soldiers that help the resistance fighters.

Shadow divers was an amazing book. I am reading THE ORDER OF THE BONE by Russell Banks... this book has nothing to do with WWII but that's what I'm reading

 

oops I just read the entire title of the thread. I just bought All American All the way by Phil Nordyke. It was recommended by my professor.
