I was wondering if there is any way to find out who was in the 575th aaa division and if there are any living members? My Father was one of the youngest ones and he just passed. They no longer have reunions and their website doesn't seem to be updatable. If any one has any idea how to find out who is left I would like to notify them of my Father's passing. He was a devoted member who regularly attended the reunions every year. I tagged along for most reunions and fondly remember quite a few men and their wonderful stories. My Father's name was Kenneth L. Kacel. Thanks, Karen McKenna View attachment 22935
If you have a list of names of those who were alive not too long ago you can do individual searches on them. Nothing easy that I know of though.
Association rosters, and a list of it's members in 1945. Not all men would have joined the association. This and a lot of research on the names will tell you what you want. Nothing is ever easy, when dealing with WWII.
One thing, it would be 575th Battalion, not division. Full title 575th Anti Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion (Self Propelled). It was equipped with M15 halftracks mounting 37mm automatic cannons and .50 caliber machine guns. It was attached to the 11th Armored DIvision; the halftracks were better able to keep up with armor than towed AA guns would be.
