Hi everyone! I inherited my grandfather's ( Allan Poyner (gnr)) WW2 memorabilia and photos etc. I'm going to start piecing together his journey, tracing his steps. I know he fought in England , Italy, Holland and France. He was called upon to help in the epic Battle of Ortona. Once I figure out how, I will post some great pics! Looking forward to sharing info with you all!!!
Sounds like he was in 1st Canadian Division ort the supporting arms. I know the Ortona battlefield fairly well.
