No its not about an Australian car...the Holden.

Watched the Oscars last night...the women were amazing looking.
Plenty on the black (apparently that's PC) boycott...bit too much, but the point was given and probably taken.
A number of diss's to Trump...actors are predominantly left, so you'd expect that...likewise the references to planet warming...cant hurt.
Australians all over the shop! I was struggling to hear an American accent there for a while...great stuff...bit of reverse cultural influence...
And the usual lame jokes and (ironically) bad acting from the presenters...
But what prompted me to put fingers to keyboard was "The Revanant" - This movie looked epic, just the shorts moved me every time...and I wondered what KODIAKBEER thought of the bear attack scene...Kodiak has proven a person CAN survive such an attack, it looked horrific...any thoughts Kodiak?

I watched enough to firmly remember why I have not watched that hogwash in a good 20 years. I had a belly full of Chris Rock while he was still sliming through the monologue.

To use a phrase from our British cohorts- utter tosh.

The Oscars have nothing to do with schürzen, operational combat, tail gunners, spitfires or anything similar interesting. There is no reason for me to watch it. :D

Exercises in narcissism tend to bore me. I didn't even realize they were last night not that it would have mattered to me.

Oh the apathy! Was worth it just to see Chris Rock tear into them...

You say that as if making fun of Hollywood required talent or a special skills set.

I didn't really care, but got some satisfaction in DiCaprio winning the award. Revenant was an excellent film. He earned it.

I haven't seen the movie. I'll get it when it comes out on DVD. No theaters for a hundred miles or so.

I do not go to the movies often as most of them are rubbish. I made a point of going to see Revenant and it was excellent. The book is even better.

    Yearly rant.
Why would anyone care about hollywood or its diseased / entitled / bent / greedy / racist etc etc etc people (read Sony hacked emails- the kadashebutts- a man called kate). .. Bunch of way overpaid talking heads...Die hollywood, die already.
    Support the arts, not hollywood.
Example - the chick who did the costumes for Mad Max...she won ozcar for wardrobe, and accepted her ozcar in a racy bejeweled jean jacket ensemble. Overweight, and spewing dicaprio like bs about mmgw. Her footprint (like gore's) is twice (10x) the size of the average individual.
Rock was pathetic. Could feel the squirm of the audience (enjoyed that schadenfreude). He trotted out the black /white girl. Best moment of whole show.
    end rant

The only reason I "watched" it was because I was invited to dinner at a friend's home and had to sit through most of it. It was interesting watching a racist like Rock talking about other racists. The only good part about that though, was the fact that he was calling the Hollywood elite racists, the super P.C. police that are always calling everyone else racist :D

Hispanics are under represented...A certain demo of hollywood/media are over represented. ..Happy to see the under reps giving traditional hollywood a big pain in the arse ( ha, hollywood would love that )...
Just like the donald, tipping establishment on its' ear...Time for a change, all around.
2016 could actually turn out to be a good year. Year of the donald.

It's that wonderful season when the dumbest people on the planet line up to make political speeches, and then thank their directors and/or producers.
