I know this is a long shot but does anyone know, remember, or have any record of my step grandpa's dad, his name was Robert Valentine. My grandpa thinks his middle name was Lloyd, Lee, or Lynn. He left my grandpa when he was 4 or 5. My grandpa is 73 now and just wants to know where he went. We think he was born on February or March 10, 1920. We know he was born in Hillsdale, Michigan. We think he died on June 30, 2013 in Kerrville, Texas. We know he went in to World War 2, my grandpa thinks it was a couple months after he was born, he was born on November 24, 1942 in Jackson, Michigan. The last time my grandpa remembers seeing him is when he was 4 or 5. My grandpa think he was in the war Air Force, but he could have been in anything. I have a good picture of him in his uniform with his badges its to big to post on here but if anyone wants to see it give me your email address and I'll email it to you. Thank you

Here's the picture. He seems to be wearing a Distinctive Unit Insignia. Check here for which one seems to match. http://www.wardogmilitaria.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=61 View attachment 24091
I don't think so. It seems to be missing the top extension. It also seems too dark, but that could be the lighting. Do you have anything else? It might be worth getting his OMPF (Official Military Personnel File). Check here http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/archival-programs/military-personnel-archival/index.html
View attachment 24119 After a bit of digging around I think it is a US Army Air Corps Tech School DUI.....
