    Hey guys,

Thought I would introduce my self to the forum!

My name is Darren Wilson (forum name Dazwilson) please call me Daz! - had to come up with an easy name for me to remember, can be a bit forgetful sometimes.

I have been graced with 26 years on this planet! Been interested in history for a number of years (probably since I signed my life away to the queen)

Originally I am from a town called cumbernauld, it's a small town just outside glasgow in Scotland. However I am living in sennelager, another small town just out side paderborn in germany

I am rather interested with most interests of WWII, but I do know a fair bit about corps and arms, uniform recognitions (badges and pins) and weapons systems

Hobbies hmm mm that's a hard one, I am an abide rock climber and swimmer (although haven't swimmed in a while since I qualled as a lifegaurd). I am unsure if it's a relation on or not to the war but I am a serving soldier, and I have served in theatre of operations so I can relate. Over the years of service I have visited various sites such as the D Day beaches, St marigles (I think that's how it's spelt) the menin gate, began besan concentration camp, and the bridge at Arnhem as well as landing sights around the area.

I am a serving soldier currently in service with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps as Military Working Dog Handler, prior to that I was serving with the Royal Logistics corps as a movement controller - formally a trade in the Royal Corps of Transport / Royal Army Service Corps (transfered in 2011). I have seen service in both conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Well that's me in a nutshell and I hope to help with any thing I can whilst getting to know some people with the same interests as me.

Now there is an introduction! Welcome Daz.

Be sure to check out our sister site at WW2Talk.com. They have more of a Commonwealth focus over there. A lot of our membership visits both sites.

I was under the impression the term "Commonwealth" included the UK proper. Does it refer only to former imperial colonies only?

In either case, we have a good number of Commonwealth members (including myself), but they have a very strong Commonwealth membership. I'm using the +UK definition of Commonwealth.

Welcome Daz. I've read through your thread on Veterinarians in WW2. Most impressive. I'm looking forward to see what you come up with.
