Indeed, so awesome that I'm a bit suspicious.

 

If memory serves it came from Signal magazine, a WWII German publication. It was certainly staged as many color photo's were at that time in German propaganda. Part of a series which figures prominently in the link. Still a awesome photo and inspired me to paint a model Stuka similarly I put together as a youngling. Sadly neither Allied or Soviet forces downed that one as it succomed to the far more deadly house movers.

 

Yes, suspicious that there was a chance it was at the least doctored. Not to say that I thought it was certainly a fake but the color matching was so close that it was more than enough to raise suspicions especially considering the things one can do with a photo these days. Now the fact that the photo has been around for a considerable period of time addresses most of those. A photo pasted on line that has no providence associated, one I'm not familiar with, and one that looks almost too good to be true. That warrants suspicion in my book, unfortunate but with the number of hoaxes out there fully warranted IIMO.

 

I share with you a report showing a fantastic collection of photos of aircraft designed during the Second World War to bring war and destruction far beyond German borders. the recent Luftwaffe 'desert' schemes included a number of Ju 88 night fighter pics and a number of others lifted directly from my own blog..

 

At least one previous poster said that he responded appropriately to request to remove content that he was using without permission. That it has to be addressed again though is disappointing.
