There's a somewhat* indulgent thread on 2T of pics of our bookshelves. It makes me smile, so I'm bringing it here. Get your books out 2F-ers, so we can point and laugh, or cringe in shrivelled inadequacy. And since you have to expose yourself a little to play: the main WW2 shelves in my little bunker: *Essentially nerd porn.
Alright, if you insist... Didn't have time to differentiate, so just snapped them all. WW2 is centre & right in this one- And the left-hand one is all battlefield archaeology/pillboxes etc, so that counts too.
Just so you all know, nosy me will be checking out all the non-book stuff in your photos. Thanks in advance for posting these interesting little bits about yourselves.
This is only to be expected. Some other WW2 shelvage may or may not have been omitted for this very reason.
They do. A mate on FB has pointed out that 'The book of tanks' and maybe, if unusually dedicated, 'The book of more tanks' would be perfectly adequate. I believe him to be incorrect in this assertion, but it is still a cause for mild worry in the obsessed...
I like your hats! And do I see a Star Trek ship thing in the lower right corner of the second photo? (Star Trek fans, don't yell at me! I know it has a name, but I can't remember.)
Ah, thank you, Sir. I should know this, given the number of friends who like Star Trek, and yet I must not pay close enough attention. My nerdiness tends to head in other directions.
I just recently moved...what books my dog hadn't eaten were thrown into a rubbish skip! I wasn't going to read them again, and didn't know anyone who'd want them...probably about 100 books or so...feel so light now.
Yep, they're both there. The original Enterprise is off to the right. Just for you, a close-up of me millinery.
View attachment 25105 In the dead center of this pic, to the right on Invasion 1940, are my published works, which as you recall are mostly WWII.
View attachment 25106 Right now, I'm keeping this open for more of the South Africa at War series, which I'll be getting as money allows.
