That assumes that mind-changing is on the agenda. I am just trying to find how many of them I can keep in the air at once. Mob-handed and they still struggle.
Did you never have a clockwork toy when you were a kid, just wind it up and let it go - unfortunately this one is not much much fun just runs round in circles and should soon disappear up its own Brexit. Juggling is not your thing. We are struggling to stop laughing at the incredulous statement you keep coming out, Latest Switzerland all but in the EU, Destroys the claim the far right are setting the agenda, who claims that!
I see you are from Bridlington. Lovely place. My fathers Regiment were based there in 1943 - my avatar is the clue. I've a photo of two 24th Lancers on parade at some place, apparently in Bridlington, and a fascinating one of a policeman directing traffic - the traffic being a Sherman tank - close to Marine Parade. Also one of all the 24L officers at the Chequers Hotel which, when I visited in about 1998, had been converted into a house (but still named Chequers) - also located off Marine Parade. Swimming lessons were also apparently held in the Spa Boating Lake - dad never did learn to swim properly. Didn't matter anyway because they made it onto Gold Beach Normandy without even getting their feet wet even though there were some nasty people shooting at them at the time. Small World!
Small world indeed, interesting information on your father, always good to hear what people did. We moved here about 15 years ago, for a small place Bridlington must have had its share of troops as I understand Polish soldiers were based here, with their tanks and their own hospital before being sent abroad. Next door we have Norman a 96 year old veteran who had service with a group of his friends all from Bridlington, who all joined up at the same time with the Green Howards, Dunkirk, N Africa, Sicily and Normandy, His story goes they were recruiting at the Spar Theater, it was raining, nothing to do, went along and when they left they had signed up! Always could tell a story! My Dad did N Africa, Sicily and Normandy before ending up for a time with the BAOR. Looking to post a short outline on here soon as a thank you to those who have provided help over the past few years pulling things together.
Brian The photo I mentioned of the Policeman and the Sherman tank was actually of the Polish Lancers. I found it during research at Bridlington Library in a box of photos showing War bomb damage etc. I hope it's still there: it's a brilliant photo. I took a photocopy: need to find it!
Is it as 'incredulous' as the Bronze Age London claim? The one you said I made up. Here we see your baseless accusation. I hope it was ignorance rather than malice. This 'dark corner' actually: I have to say I am 'struggling to stop laughing at the incredulous statement you keep coming out'(with)
Link to your original ML post from 2004 http://www.network54.com/Forum/47208/thread/1075646970/What+sort+of+Sherman+is+this-.....
Gosh! Quite a detective: I'd forgotten that ML thread. The date, 2004 thread, suddenly makes me feel quite old.
Great photo, I do love it when 2 apparently unconnected stories come together to prove a point. All part of this delving in to the past. Brilliant. Brian
You twist facts to suit yourself, you attributed the quote to me, I pointed out you needed to be more careful with your sources. Now lets dump the diversion and you can get back to explaining your statements on how Switzerland is all but in the EU and claims that the far right are setting the agenda.
Sincere Thanks to both of you for your comments re the Bridlington photo. I'll now let you get back to your EU debate!
The idea of Switzerland being in the EU in all but name came from he above I was merely asking for an explanation, As confusing is the thought that Switzerland is being neutral again. Suggests recently it has not been.
You mean the neutrality to the Third Reich is the same neutrality as to the EU? I thought they were 2 different neutralities
Not sure how you guys have time for all this 'chatting' - I'm really busy building my bunker anyone like to help choose the colour of water in the swimming pool - https://www.google.fr/search?q=Inside+luxury+nuclear+bunkers&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjanrHK9ezRAhVMVhoKHeOqChEQsAQIKQ&biw=1134&bih=563 Must fly - catch you later TD
Never mind the colour of water. Have you undertaken a risk assessment on the long term storage of chemicals required to maintain a hazard free bathing environment or addressed ventilation issues? Even in the event of nuclear war or the apocalypse, you can bet that Environmental Health would be knocking on your door.
That is all very well but unlikely to be made of organic material so you will be blatantly adding to the pile of man made substances that do not decompose and contribute to global warming and all for your selfish desires.
