I have read time and time again about persuasive speech, but I am still dumbfounded on the thousands of children that were part of Hitler-Jugend and actually thought they were making a better world. These were children. :realmad:

I totally agree. It makes me so sick and angry to think of the many of children who were caught up in these wars then and the ones who are also caught up in the ones now. :madman:

I don't see how anyone could hear what he said and believe it. Hitler had a massive following and it is truly scary to think that it was that easy for him. Makes it seem to me like it wouldn't be that hard for someone else to do it too.

Maybe it is a good thing that we try to keep our children innocent in the states for the most part. I can not imagine one of my children having to deal with anything like that until they are grown and then by choice.

I went to hear a talk in college about the psychology of the masses and they explained it so eloquently on how so many people could follow the propaganda but I sure couldn't explain it. :der:

This is the part of the war that I don't understand, we fight and we kill eachother but the one thing I have never ever agreed with is killing children. Why? And when that question is asked you can never get an answer.

Well it was out right genocide. There are children and adults in every "race" (not may way of thinking) so in order to eliminate a people they feel it necessary to murder children as well. It is true of any case of genocide throughout history.

Actually in another aspect of the Nazi's elimination, my sweet, beautiful, blond, blue eyed baby girl would be executed because of her global delays. We think she may outgrow it within time but the Nazi's considered this a weakness in the "master race" :realmad:

There were entire social and cultural structures in place that made it easier than many would imagine for the Nazis to construct eugenics-inspired killing. Many German children with disabilities or 'abnormal' behavior were also euthanized or sent to brutal 'schools' to be put out of popular society. It's despicable but if you read up on this aspect of Third Reich mentality it fits with the rest of Nazi ideology concerning race.

I agree with you that it did fit their ideology but I feel that their ideology was just totally sick. As for the children being a part of Hitler's Jugend I think it had a lot to do with what their parents believed and followed.
