I didn't know if there was a better place to fit this thread but Western Europe could possibly be extended to North America as well I suppose.

In history classes regarding WWII many Canadians learn about one of our darker moments in history regarding the mass internment of many Japanese-Canadians during war time. Although not popularly discussed many Canadian citizens of Japanese descent had their properties and businesses confiscated and were sent to work camps due to the possibility of their ethnicity leading to conspiracy and espionage. This is a very interesting topic and goes to show that not only the Axis forces were capable of hateful prejudices.

I think World War II was just a horrible time in world history and that every country made it's share of mistakes in its treatment of its citizens. In the United States, the Japanese-Americans faced the same treatment. I want to thank you for your post because as an American, I never really thought about how other countries treated the Japanese. Your post was very educational for me.
