The musical The Sound of Music involves the Nazis pressuring the Austrian Von Trapp to serve in their navy.

I saw this movie when it came out and I was just a kid, so I didn't get the historical references to world events at the time.

Now I still love the music, and I appreciate the story more, knowing it's based on real events.

Does anybody else here still watch this one from time to time?

Got to admit The Sound of Music and E.T. are two of the biggest films I have never watched.

It's been such a long time since I watched that movie that I really don't remember much besides the songs. I was only a kid when I watched it, so I didn't get the historical references at all. I had a VHS set, and I remember I really enjoyed the first part, but found the second tape to be a bit boring, and I think maybe that's where much of the more profound things took place.
