The musical The Sound of Music involves the Nazis pressuring the Austrian Von Trapp to serve in their navy. I saw this movie when it came out and I was just a kid, so I didn't get the historical references to world events at the time. Now I still love the music, and I appreciate the story more, knowing it's based on real events. Does anybody else here still watch this one from time to time?
It's been such a long time since I watched that movie that I really don't remember much besides the songs. I was only a kid when I watched it, so I didn't get the historical references at all. I had a VHS set, and I remember I really enjoyed the first part, but found the second tape to be a bit boring, and I think maybe that's where much of the more profound things took place. :lol:
