Sorry this photo is upside down but will be having a friend correct it for me at some point.

Anyway, these ribbons and medal and pin--are some of my Grandfathers WWII Merchant Marine items. The medal is: Merchant Mariners Med For War Wounded. Only about 6,000+++ of these were awarded and is a rare award. My grandfather got his because he was wounded and survived a Uboat attack on his ship-the: SS> Fort Lee--in which he was the ships "Master" (aka) the ships Captain.

The "V" pin is made of Sterling Silver and is some sort of a private purchase pin. The navy button--im not sure what it is for-but was his as well. The only thing in this photo that is not my grandfathers--is the Imperial German (Bavarian) Military Merit Cross (lowest class) which just happened to be with these other items when I had them scanned.

Here are the cards that were given with the ribbon bars and medals when awarded.
