    So if you could get a jet of water to travel at several thousand ft./sec it would have the same effect on armor plate as a HEAT round?

    Pretty much. By the way, birds hitting airplanes at high speed have pretty much the same effect.

    Quite weird how explosions can work... The mantlet came loose and turned 90 degrees clockwise?

    A Churchill used for target practice, or did it take this many shots to be taken out?

    You guys are aware that water is now used a a 'cutting device' for steel, similar to laser? So, yes, if you get the pressure high enough then you can cut almost anything. I think I have heard of 200mm plus water cutters. Yet they are accurate enough to cut a iced cake in slices, even cutting the cherries on top.
