    Everyone knows that you can't use vegetable oil as brake fluid.


    Its too high in polyunsaturated fats! ;) :D


    Seriously though, an ex-boss of mine had a high performance car, and it's engine had to run on vegetable oil, mineral oil was not able to be sufficiently refined. Boy that car smelt good!

    Not from the BBC, but from my local paper. Bedfordshire County Council hired consultants to see where the council was spending too much money, and how it could cut back. The answer? Hire fewer consultants.

    Stunning bureaucratic logic...
    About 7 years ago I tried to get myself on the Nigerian (IIRC) Y2K report team. The official mandate (and this is not a joke - the project specification was published in a good number of "trade" programmers' and computing magazines) was for a team of programmers and IT specialists to produce a report on the potential problems that would be caused by the switch over to the year 2000 (anybody remember the "end of the world" when that happened? :D ).
    The team was to be formed in late '98 or early '99 and give its final report (on problems only, they weren't asked to recommend solutions) by no later than July 2000!
    Wow, what a job, sit there playing computer games for a year, wait 'til 2000 arrived, play Doom for another few months and then just type up whatever had gone wrong... And they wanted a governmental team to do this? :D

    Wow - I'm glad our tax money is going to such brilliant methods when maintaining our airport security. If it was Barbie who went through airport security carrying a replica rifle, they wouldn't say a word.
