Don't like Panther in 1940! Or Tiger I in 1941! What are the dates meant to represent? Date of manufacture? Time in service?
Your chart Nicely done, I am a fan of the Panzer's myself. Well done. The Panzer's were very effective in WW2, like when Rommel went ahead of everyone else in 1940 with the Panzer Corps on a rush towards Paris. I enjoed your timeline of the Panzer's. Sincerely, Private Mic von Krate
Tigers served till the end of the war, but not before July 1942. Other than that, nice chart - though if you want to make it represent German armoured forces during the war, you'll have to add all the SP guns they used by the end of the war to fill slots for real tanks that their industries couldn't make anymore.
I had problems transfering it from Publisher to Word. Should be fixed now. oh, and date of manufacturing. Not Survice!
Gunter, the PzII Luchs wasn't exactly second line. As a recon tank, I'd say it was even more than first line!
Nice stuff. It really does impress the importance of the Panzer iv. But why did they all end in 1945 ?!
There's nothing like a rhetorical question to lure the pommeling pedants from their hiding places...
as a matter of interest didn't the PIII chasis remain in production all through the war as Stugs and other things? Should chassis be added to show how things continued? Also what about the other key german vehicles which would pretty much cover all but a break down in varients? Stug III, Stug IV, Marder, Nashorn, Jagz varients, Elephant and czech tanks 35 and 38 (T) What would be best if you could make the graph 3d to not only show tanks by time on the X and Y, but put in a Z axis to show numbers produced! That would show the real importance of the tanks to the german armies. FNG
I can't do 3D. You guys can if you want to. I only made that graph so that we can see when the tanks were available in the war.
