Well I know Hitlers Eastern Front hedquaters were in Poland. The Wolfs Lair in the woods, so it was well camoflaged against the enemies. There were about 80 bunkers, a casino, a cinema, an airfield and a railway station. Top Nazi officals had there own bunkers there such as Gorring, Borrman, ect. And Hitlers briefing room where the infamous July 20 Plot took place, the plot that had over 5,000 executed. But I wonder what it would have been like to be at the Wolfs Lair in lets say 1943, what was going on there at that stage in the war. All I can say is that it is a remarkable place and when I go to Europe, Im definitly going there. Corpral Mic von Krate
Actually I think I have to correct you I beleive it was in East Prussia, now in modern day Poland. It is near the Polish town of Ketrzyn, formerly Rastenburg.
80 bunkers, a casino, a cinema, a train station and an airfield! Those sly German wolves. That would have been a great place to be-until the Allies overran it, of course.
Yeah I would have loved to have been there, it would have been a blast. Until you were probably sent to the Eastern Front! If you were infantry or something like that.
It was blown to pieces (end of 1944 IIRC) by the Germans long before the Allies (Russians) overran it....so i don't see what fun it is to stay in blown up bunkers :-?
